Prospective students are often keen to know about the practicals, field trips, and research they can participate in while at NUS, and how to gain hands-on experience. Here, we will share some of the opportunities you will have to learn essential techniques, gain real-world exposure to current environmental issues, and undertake your own research.
Prof Peter Alan Todd is an experimental marine ecologist who focuses on organism-environment interactions in tropical seas. His research is multidisciplinary, synthesising elements of biology, geography and engineering, to answer ecological questions. He is fundamentally concerned with increasing understanding of Southeast Asian tropical marine organisms and communities, including the impacts of urbanisation on coastal ecosystems. Prof Todd is Co-Director of the Environmental Studies programme and Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Studies) at the Faculty of Science.
