UROPS Registration and Timeline

UROPS – How to begin?

Ask these questions:

  • Can you commit 6-10 hours of UROPS research per week?
  • Can you afford the time away from your regular workload?
  • Can you work on a project for one semester or more?

If your answers to the above are YES, you will then need to decide on the areas of research you want to pursue and the skills you wish to develop.

To see the list of UROPS projects available, please refer to this LINK (students will only be able to access during the online registration period according to the timeline stated below).

Registration of UROPS project will, in general, follow the timeline as given below. Some deadlines will, however, be subjected to revisions, so please check this page for updates regularly.

Upgrade your UROPS with Research Experience (REx)

REx is an optional course upgrade that students can concurrently enrol in while carrying out their UROPS project. The application timeline for FoS students will be aligned to the Online Registration timeline for UROPS (refer to UROPS timeline below) until Week 3 of Semester 1 or 2 of the academic year. Students should note that only UROPS taken during regular semesters are eligible to be REx-upgraded. For more information on REx, please refer to this LINK
