Peer Student Supporter

Peer Student Supporter (PSS) are fellow students in the faculty that meet up with individuals to listen, and provide general support to matters related to personal, relationship, academic problems, and adjusting socially to university life. PSS also aid in finding and giving necessary information and exploring solution to some problems that the students may have.

Trained and supervised peer volunteers are made available to meet with students on a one-to-one session or in groups for a casual chat.

Chu Chiao Xuan

I am Chu Chiao Xuan, a year 3 life sciences major. I play badminton often and I love to bake so much that I co-founded a culinary club in NUS, Bakers & Cooks!

When I first came to NUS, I was a confused freshman and wished I had seniors to guide me through uni. Especially when CHS is so new and unfamiliar. Now that I’m a year 3, I wish to help my freshmen and schoolmates navigate school life together! Whether it is campus living, clubs, or the CHS curriculum, let’s do this together!

Yeo Zhi Hui

My name is Zhi Hui, a 3rd year student majoring in Life Sciences. I like to volunteer outside of school as I like to contribute back to the community and see the smiles on my residents’ faces. I also like to play badminton during my free time to destress myself.

Tan Jie Quan

Hello!! I’m Jie Quan, a Year 3 life science and nutrition student!! My favourite pastimes are eating and sleeping frfr 🤡

I especially love mala because it’s delicious and can be a great bonding activity with friends and family! 🤩

Fun fact: I once ate so much mala that the stall gave me a mala VIP card so that I can eat even more mala!! 😍

I’ve always appreciated my friends for lending me their listening ear whenever I just needed to get something off my chest, hence I’m joining PSS for a 2nd year because I would like to be that listening ear for the science student community!

Liew Ting Yu

Hello! I am Ting Yu, a Y2 Data Science and Economics student. In my free time, I enjoy baking and making DIY craft work, and spending time with my 5-year old sister! I absolutely love spicy food – tom yum, mala, curry, you name it.

School life can be tough, and there will be times where we just need a listening ear to support us. I joined the PSS in hopes to be that friend we need, and provide encouragement to peers who are seeking guidance. Through interacting with different people, I hope to learn new skills and be a better friend to all! 🙂
