Science Summer Camp 2024

Inviting the Science Enthusiasts to join the Summer Camp at NUS for an EXCITING Science experience…

The Science Summer Camp is designed to stir curiosity and inculcate a life-long fascination for science into the students through inspiring lectures by university professors, creative workshops and engaging demonstrations at state-of-the-art laboratories at NUS for an experiential learning in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.

Next coming Summer, the camp will offer two programmes that will be running concurrently:

1. Junior High Science Camp

Suitable for students in Grade 8.

Key highlights of the camp include:

Witness the Amazing Scientific Demonstrations to understand the principles of Science
Engage in hands-on activities to understand Food Gastronomy and the applications of Chemistry in everyday life
Dive right into the realm of Mathematics and experience for yourself how Mathematics can coexist with Art
Explore several mini-activities on Neuroscience to understand how our brain perceives the world around us
Immerse yourself in the world of Astronomy to learn some fascinating facts about the galaxies and planets
Learn about and discover the diversity of Animal species in the region through a hands-on exploration at the Natural History Museum

2. Senior High Science Camp

Suitable for students in Grade 9, 10, 11 & 12.

Key highlights of the camp include:

Witness the Amazing Scientific Demonstrations to understand the principles of Science
Explore sub-atomic and molecular structures using light and electron microscopes
Engage in hands-on activities to understand how Nano-systems can be synthesized and the application of Chemistry in Food Science
Participate in a Machine Learning workshop to pick up some relevant and highly applicable technical skills in this ever-growing field of Data Science
Explore several mini-activities on Neuroscience to understand the functioning of human brain
Design an experiment to investigate some characteristics of living things in Physiology workshop

Beyond the academic element, students will get to expand their social and cultural horizons by experiencing the vibrant campus life of NUS while staying at student hostels

Enjoy a trip to Sentosa, Singapore’s favorite fun playground

LOCATION

Lessons will be conducted at NUS Main Campus.

PROGRAM FEES

Option 1: The program fee of S$2900 would include 5 Nights – accommodation (single occupancy AC room) at student hostels, Meals, Field Trips, City Tour, Visit to Sentosa and Local Travel as per the schedule including Airport Transfers. Airfare, Visa fees, health/travel insurance and personal expenses are NOT included.

Option 2: The program fee of S$2250 would include Lunch, Field Trips, City Tour, Visit to Sentosa and programme related travel as per the schedule. Accommodation, Breakfast, Dinner, Airfare, Visa fees, health/travel insurance, Airport transfers and personal expenses are NOT included.

The cost is also inclusive of the prevailing Goods and Service Tax (GST).
