As a pharmacy student, his clinical interest lies in evidence-based care and personalised medicine. During the capstone Student-led Collaborative Innovative Pharmacy Inquiry Project (SCI-PhI), he and his teammates collaborated on an implementation project focusing on the application of clinical pharmacogenomics in the community. This collaboration was also awarded first place in the SCI-PhI (2023) challenge.
Apart from academics, he is an active volunteer in the community. Since the beginning of the pandemic, he has partnered with Ren Ci Nursing Home as a befriender of the elderly.
Yang Chen will begin his training as a Pre-Registration Pharmacist at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital upon graduation.

Mr Chua Ching Leong graduates with a Master of Science in Statistics. He also obtained his Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Physics with a second major in Economics in 2018 at NUS.Â
After his undergraduate degree, he joined an international multi-family office as an analyst, assisting the investment team with top-down macro research as well as optimisation of internal trading and operational processes.
To advance his interest in systematic investing, which emphasises data-driven insights to construct investment portfolios, he made the deliberate choice to return to university to pursue a higher degree, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.Â

Mr Phee Yong Han graduates with Honours (High Distinction) in Physics. He received the Dean’s List for the second and third year of his undergraduate studies, as well as the Sembcorp Marine prize for his first three years of study at NUS.
Yong Han was part of the Special Programme in Science (SPS), where he and his peers from Life Sciences embarked on an interdisciplinary project at the Mechanobiology Institute to investigate contact inhibition of locomotion in immune cells of the common fruit fly. After the completion of the programme, he continued to serve as a senior mentor at SPS, where he guided students on their academic journeys while imparting knowledge in computational thinking, scientific writing and modern physics.
He participated in the Physics immersion programme in Germany which brought him to various universities and research institutes in Munich and Göttingen. There, he gained exposure to a wide range of physics research, from cosmology to quantum optics, as well as Germany’s strong research culture which has a huge emphasis on basic science.
Yong Han will be joining Max Planck School Matter to Life to pursue a joint Master of Science to PhD Direct Track programme between Heidelberg University and the University of Göttingen.  Â

Dr Li Yingyue graduates with a PhD in Food Science and Technology. She was awarded the NUS Industry Relevant PhD Scholarship to pursue her doctoral studies.
Yingyue’s research focused on salmonella contamination in food products, which led her to first author several articles in esteemed journals such as Food Microbiology. She also made presentations at key international conferences to share her insights, including the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) World Congress (2022) and the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) annual meeting (2024). Â
For her work, Yingyue was named Champion of the Food Safety Without Borders Graduate Student Paper Competition at IUFoST in 2022.
Beyond research, she was also a Teaching Assistant in the Integrated Food Research Laboratory where she supervised several Master’s and Final Year Projects centred on food safety.
Yingyue is currently a Research Fellow at NUS, working on advanced food safety research.

Ms Joey Chng graduates with Honours (Highest Distinction) in Chemistry and a Minor in Pharmaceutical Science. She attained the Dean’s List and received the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry Prize in Academic Year 2021/2022 as the top Chemistry student in her cohort.
During her candidature, she participated in research projects at NUS’ Chemistry Department and the Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Her research focused on the design and synthesis of novel multifunctional pro-sensate molecules, with applications in consumer care such as topical pain relief and oral care products. She also opted for a Final Year Internship at GlaxoSmithKline, where she worked closely with industry leaders to make improvements to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Joey was actively engaged in NUS Students’ Science Club. She was a Programmes Executive for the Science Camp Subcommittee in 2021, before assuming the role of Programmes Head in 2022. In her third year, she served as the Secretary of the Science Sports Subcommittee.
She aspires to a career in the pharmaceutical industry, where she hopes to make a difference in the lives of people suffering from diseases.

Ms Fang Xinyu graduates with Honours (Highest Distinction) in Mathematics and Minors in Computer Science and Economics. She is the winner of the Special Programme in Mathematics (SPM) Book Prize for Academic Year 2023/2024, awarded to the student achieving the best overall performance in SPM. She was also a recipient of the Tan Teck Chwee Prize awarded to the best Year 3 student in Pure Mathematics. She was placed on the Dean’s List for four semesters.
Xinyu’s interest in Number Theory stemmed from a reading project on elliptic curves and modular forms. As part of an Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme in Science (UROPS) project, she explored the field of arithmetic statistics and partially resolved an open problem on the probability distribution of cokernels of Haar random Hermitian matrices. Her UROPS project was awarded the CRISP award. Her Honours Year Project was centred on the Ax-Lindemann-Weierstrass theorem for products of modular curves and its o-minimality proof.
During the summer of her third year, she participated in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (SMALL REU) programme at Williams College, USA, where she co-authored three papers, in the fields of probability and combinatorial geometry. She also spent an exchange semester at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA and was a participant of the Women and Mathematics conference at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) in Princeton University, USA.
In the summers of her first and second years, she also interned at the InfoSec team at PayPal Global and the Quantitative Research and Trading team at Quant Edge Capital, respectively.
As Project Director and President of the NUS Mathematics Society, she spearheaded various society initiatives such as Problemathic, an NUS-wide Mathematics competition. She was also a member of NUS’ Chinese Dance and performed with the group at two annual NUS Arts Festivals.
Xinyu will be pursuing her passion in Pure Mathematics as a PhD student at Harvard University, USA.

Dr Chim Chee Kong graduates with a PhD in Biological Sciences.
Chee Kong was a full-time NUS staff while pursuing his part-time PhD studies in the Department of Biological Sciences. His research focused on the diversity and distribution of tanaids, a group of poorly studied crustaceans, in the tropical Indo-Pacific. He participated in several deep-sea expeditions to gather material for his studies.
During his tenure as a graduate student, Chee Kong published several articles, including five as first author, in international journals such as Zootaxa, Science of the Total Environment, Deep-Sea Research and Raffles Bulletin of Zoology. He also discovered and described six species that are new to science.
Chee Kong is currently a Research Fellow at NUS’ Tropical Marine Science Institute.

Ms Tan Wee Leng graduates with Honours (Highest Distinction) in Life Sciences, with a specialisation in Biomedical Science and a Minor in Psychology. She was placed on the Dean’s List for two semesters and was a recipient of the Student Life Award – Campus Vibrancy (2023) as well as the NUSS Medal for Outstanding Achievement (2024) for academic excellence and extra-curricular contributions.
Her aptitude and passion in biomedical research earned her the prestigious Amgen Research Scholarship and several presentation awards at research symposiums. Her Honours Year Project focused on understanding motor neuron degeneration in intermediate type spinal muscular atrophy using the zebrafish model. Her novel idea of supplementing neuroprotective nutrients as a potential cost-effective complementary treatment earned her the Outstanding Poster Presentation Award at the Singapore Fish Meeting (2024) and the Outstanding Undergraduate Research Prize (2024).
Wee Leng and her team emerged as country and regional champions for Project iDEA – AstraZeneca (2023), where they tailored digital solutions to educate youths on early chronic kidney disease prevention. She also volunteers at social service centres and hospitals to support underprivileged children and youths. During her exchange, she pioneered a subsidiary group under Project C Foundation – We Care for Your Mental Health to advocate for women’s mental and physical health.
Wee Leng is currently a Research Assistant at Duke-NUS Medical School, where she studies human cortical circuit assembly and degeneration in neurological disorders. She is also an executive committee member and volunteer under Youth Corps Singapore.
Dr Siah Soh Yun is the Technology Development Vice President at GlobalFoundries, with 27 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Since completing her PhD at NUS in 1997, Dr Siah has held several senior technology development positions at Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing and GlobalFoundries.
At GlobalFoundries, she is responsible for executing the semiconductor technology roadmap, driving differentiated solutions and creating impact for the industry.
Her career spans more than two decades in Research and Development (R&D) within the semiconductor industry, where she has acquired extensive experience across various Complementary Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) platforms, embedded non-volatile memories, high voltage and power technologies, gallium nitride, Radio-Frequency (RF) technologies, silicon-germanium heterojunction bipolar transistor, micro-electromechanical system (MEMS), and more.
Dr Siah is also an active contributor to the academic community. She serves on the industry advisory boards of engineering schools at local universities, including NUS and NTU. Â In this capacity, she supports industry-academia collaborations and helps guide their strategic directions.
Dr Siah has published over 50 technical papers and holds more than 25 patents in semiconductor technology.
Mr Wong Joo Seng is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Spark Systems which he and his co-founders started in April 2016. Spark is focused on building the next generation of foreign exchange (FX) trading platforms that are ultra-fast, resilient, low latency and cost efficient.
In addition to being a recipient of an MAS grant, Spark System also raised USD5 million in a Series A round that was completed in November 2016.
Mr Wong is a Venture Partner with Vickers Venture Partners and also an Investment Partner with True Global Ventures.
Mr Wong started his career in 1987 at United Overseas Bank Singapore, where he dealt in precious metals as a trader. Thereafter, he joined Republic National Bank of New York, Singapore, now part of the HSBC, as Vice President – Foreign Exchange & Precious Metals Options. He subsequently joined Bank of New Zealand in Wellington, New Zealand as Manager – Foreign Exchange Options, where he was in charge of the currency options desk.
He returned to Singapore to take up the position of Head of Treasury at TLB Bullion and Futures, the wholly owned derivative brokerage arm of Tat Lee Bank Singapore, prior to joining G K Goh to start up and run G K Goh Financial Services (GKGFS) in 1998 as its Managing Director and founding Chief Executive Officer. In his time there, he grew GKGFS into one of the largest institutional FX trading houses in Asia.
Mr Wong is the co-founder of M-DAQ and he was the company’s founding Chairman (January 2010 to November 2015). M-DAQ was valued at $250 million and ANT Financial (Alibaba) semi-acquired 40% of the company for $100 million.
Mr Wong holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Mathematics from NUS. He is also a member of MENSA Singapore, the local chapter of MENSA International.
Dr Li Jingmei graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Life Sciences and a Minor in Technopreneurship from the NUS Overseas Colleges programme. She was also a part of the University Scholars Programme.
Her rich and immersive undergraduate journey took her to various corners of the world, including youth expedition adventures where she helped construct irrigation channels in China and build a school in Vietnam. In addition, she participated in a Student Exchange Programme in Australia and embarked on a year-long start-up internship in Silicon Valley.
As a woman in science doing science for women, Dr Li’s exceptional contributions have earned her numerous prestigious awards. These include the NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award (2019), Ten Outstanding Young Persons awarded by Junior Chamber International Singapore (2019), the Young Scientist Award awarded by the Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS) (2017), Great Women of Our Time Awards by the Singapore Women’s Weekly magazine (2017), the National Research Foundation Fellowship (2017) and the UNESCO-L’OrĂ©al International Fellowship (2014).
Dr Li’s work on the early detection of breast cancer has been praised as strategic, personal and empathetic. She remains actively involved as a mentor for early career researchers and is a passionate champion for science.

In August 2022, we led an expedition to Timor-Leste in collaboration with Conservation International and the government of Timor-Leste. The Museum’s herpetologist, Dr CHAN Kin Onn, discovered a new species of bent-toed gecko which was named Cyrtodactylus santana, in reference to the Nino Konis Santana National Park, in which the gecko was discovered.
