Organic Chemistry Horizon Prize: Perkin Prize in Physical Organic Chemistry (2023)
July 24, 2023
Congratulations to Assistant Professor TIAN Chong from the Department of Pharmacy, who is part of a team of researchers known as the Molecular Ratcheteers, on being awarded the Organic Chemistry Horizon Prize: Perkin Prize in Physical Organic Chemistry (2023).
Asst Prof Tian’s research laboratory is dedicated to biocompatible / biomimetic molecular machines and mechanically interlocked molecules. These cutting-edge research areas hold potential in performing sophisticated tasks within biological systems and addressing challenging questions related to drug discovery and delivery.
Asst Prof Tian said, “I am truly honoured to receive the prize as part of the ‘Molecular Ratcheteers.’ This recognition motivates me to continue developing biocompatible molecular machines and advancing drug discovery, which present exciting challenges.”
The Molecular Ratcheteers team comprises 20 researchers from around the world who are recognised for their groundbreaking work in catalysed non-equilibrium systems, with a specific focus on molecular ratchet mechanisms.
