Inaugural Asian Young Scientist Fellowship 2023

Congratulations to Associate Professor YAO Yao, Dean’s Chair Associate Professor from the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science, who was one of 12 winners to receive the inaugural Asian Young Scientist Fellowship.

The fellowship is awarded to exceptional early-career scientists in the Asian region for their accomplishments in research and their potential to make significant contributions to their respective fields in the years to come.

Assoc Prof Yao’s  research mainly focuses on partial differential equations, fluid dynamics and mathematical biology, which is expected to contribute to modern applied analysis and address challenging questions in the fluid mechanics and mathematical biology fields.

Assoc Prof Yao said, “It is a great honour to receive this fellowship. I am truly grateful to my collaborators, colleagues and family for their support. Looking forward, there is a long journey ahead and a long list of intriguing open questions to be understood. I hope to continue doing my best in the future.”
