Dr Goh Wei Jiang
PhD in Pharmaceutical Science (2018)
Dr Lim Seng Han
PhD in Pharmaceutical Science (2018)
Alumni Goh Wei Jiang (right) and Lim Seng Han (left) saw a growing demand for personalised medicines, especially for the paediatric, elderly and special patient groups when they were PhD students at NUS. To address this demand, the two co-founded Craft Health to market their proprietary 3D printer and formulations.
Through their technology, the pair created personalised tablets with various combinations, shapes and geometrics while their formulation database includes formulations for immediate, delayed or sustained release profiles.
Dr Liu Hong Jun
PhD in Chemistry (2010)
Green Chemist Dr Liu Hong Jun invented the “Nano-composite Antimicrobial Ceramic Membrane” and PurHeart Water Purifiers. In 2012, he founded AGplus Technologies Pte Ltd (now known as Nanyang Tech-Transfer Laboratory Pte Ltd) and partnered with Mercy Relief to provide clean drinking water solutions in disaster zones or poverty stricken areas. Using a special straw containing a nanosilver ceramic filter, water from rivers and ponds can be filtered in an instant and made safe for consumption.
Dr Liu was awarded the 2nd World Future Foundation (WFF) PhD Award in Environmental and Sustainable Research amongst many others.

“We have barely scratched the surface of Timor-Leste’s biodiversity. New discoveries can have profound impacts on conservation and policy-making.”
In August 2022, we led an expedition to Timor-Leste in collaboration with Conservation International and the government of Timor-Leste. The Museum’s herpetologist, Dr CHAN Kin Onn, discovered a new species of bent-toed gecko which was named Cyrtodactylus santana, in reference to the Nino Konis Santana National Park, in which the gecko was discovered.
