In February, as panic buying grabbed the headlines, surgical masks were quickly snapped up island-wide.
As a grassroots leader in the People’s Association Youth Network in Boon Lay, Min Yee volunteered to work with community centres and residents’ committees to distribute surgical masks to residents.
She also educated them on the proper usage of the masks to promote socially responsible behaviour.
Min Yee says, “The impact of COVID-19 is felt throughout society. Rental households may have difficulties coping and may not know how to seek help. I am happy to play a part to provide residents greater peace of mind.”
