As job vacancies fall amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Chune Yang is offering three paid traineeships under the SGInnovate Summation Programme to help current undergraduates and the graduating cohort of 2020 gain industry-related skills and boost their employability in preparation for eventual economic recovery.
Each trainee is paid a monthly salary for the 12-week internship.
He says, “Trainees can expect hands-on work on quantum hardware development that would be deployed on board satellites.”
He adds, “The apprenticeship places candidates in an exciting and challenging environment, working on some of the most complex technical problems at the cutting edge of technology. This gives them the confidence to tackle similar hard challenges in their future careers.”
School of Computing’s Matthew LEE Wei Ren says, “I took up this traineeship to learn about deep tech from industry practitioners. Their knowledge in things related to quantum technologies and theoretical knowledge on its applications is outstanding. Keep learning as you won’t know what may be useful in the future!”
