Mooncake Festival 2015

September 26, 2015

More than 200 Science alumni and their families and friends thronged the Science Centre Singapore’s exhibition halls on 26 September to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. They were invited to the Island Adventurer, an exhibition co-produced by the Faculty featuring the expeditions of Alfred Russel Wallace (1823 – 1913) in Singapore and Southeast Asia, where he co-discovered with Charles Darwin the theory of evolution by natural selection. In celebration of the festival, the alumni also received mooncakes. Dr John van Wyhe, a historian of science from the NUS Department of Biological Sciences delivered a public talk “In Search of the Historical Wallace”. The creator of Darwin Online and Wallace Online, Dr van Wyhe is also writer and curator for the Island Adventurer.
