Dr Vikneswaran S/O Gopal, Honour Roll Faculty Awards 2021

Dr Vik Gopal joined NUS in 2013 as a Lecturer, and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2019. He has consistently demonstrated the ability to be nimble, by adapting responsively to the changing needs of students and the demands of the pandemic.

He has developed and delivered classes to undergraduates, post-graduates and working adults, covering both theoretical and applied content. He also created tools to optimise the delivery of classes. Examples include an auto-grader for coding classes, a web-application for live-sharing code, tools for randomising examination questions and for inserting “traps” into datasets. 

In the past two years, he has been working with the Office of the President to build up the Data Literacy Programme for NUS Executive & Administrative staff. This programme equips staff with basic data analytics skills, as part of a University-wide initiative to enhance staff capabilities.
