Each year, NUS and the Faculty of Science organise events for prospective students and their parents to help them make informed choices in their application and to advise them on important information as they make their transition into higher education.
NUS Open Day
This one-day university-level event is typically held on a Saturday in March, soon after the release of the GCE “A” level examination results. The target audience are prospective students who are considering their choice of University to pursue an undergraduate course of study.
The NUS Open Day showcases the different faculties and schools, various residential colleges as well as student clubs/societies/activities in NUS. The Faculty of Science actively participates in this event and features its departments and its wide spectrum of academic programmes.

Faculty of Science Open House
This one-day Faculty-level event is typically held on a Saturday in May, after the application period for admission to NUS has closed. The target audience are prospective students who have received an NUS offer to pursue undergraduate studies in Science or Pharmacy.
At the event, prospective students have the opportunity to chat with our Faculty’s professors, departmental advisors, alumni and student ambassadors to find out more about the academic programmes and unlimited learning opportunities that are available.

Dean’s Welcome Tea and Science Freshmen Orientation Briefing
The Dean of Science hosts this event each July to welcome all freshmen.
At the event, students are introduced to the various faculty members in the Faculty and Departments, the curriculum of their intended major course, and the unlimited learning opportunities available to them. Students will get crucial information on how to choose the learning pathway that best suits their interest, and how to manage the modules registration system known as the Centralised Online Registration System (CORS).
